The Seton Forum is a network of young professionals whose mission is to work toward healthcare for all, and to help maintain the vitality of our community’s collective health. Members work to aid the Seton Family of Hospitals in its pursuit of healthcare excellence for all the members of our community through the education and involvement of young professionals in healthcare. The Seton Forum is comprised of 65 young Austinites who hold leadership positions across a broad spectrum of Austin industries: banking, corporate communications, government, law, technology, healthcare, real estate and nonprofits. Our membership is charged with serving as goodwill ambassadors for the Seton Healthcare Family with a heightened awareness on supporting the Seton League House special projects, programs and supplies.

Lemuel Williams

Lemuel C. Williams is a 15-year technology and business executive professional who has extensive experience within various positions such as: Program Director, Product Management, Business Development and Channel and Alliances.  All with local companies which include Dell, Inc., Uptime Devices, Inc., Bazaarvoice, Inc., Gemalto, Inc., and SailPoint Technologies.

Lemuel is the Partner Manager at Duo Security based in Austin, Texas.  In his current role, he is responsible for creating, maintain, and expanding security partner relationships nationally by providing two-factor authentication tools and techniques for securing enterprise organizations.  Throughout his career, Lemuel has been instrumental in creating plans and strategies to help organizations secure access to information.  Those strategies are:  

  • Incident and threat management
  • Data Center solution strategy
  • Audit and compliance checklists
  • Cybersecurity strategy awareness (standards, technologies, thought-leadership)
  • Security assessments (personnel, technologies and networks)
  • Cybersecurity deployments (security, authentication, protocols and prevention)

In 2007, Lemuel was appointed to the City of Austin Technology and Telecommunications Commission.  He has served his fifth term as chair, overseeing an 11 member group which advices city council on issues ranging from community technology, telecommunications services, allocation of annual financial support, smart city development, autonomous vehicle regulations and evaluation of the performance of franchise holders.  Under Lemuel’s leadership, he helped create the City of Austin’s first ever Chief Innovation Office, revised the Imagine Austin plan to include a community technology component, made recommendations on 100 GoogleFiber® connection sites, create an on-going residential technology study on digital divide, increased funding for non-profit grants from $100K to $200K and in 2014, formed a resolution for the passage of Distracted Driving. 

In addition to these positions, Lemuel serves as Chair, of The Seton Forum, past Chair of LBJ Future Forum, Board of Directors Annette Strauss Institute and City of Austin of Austin Technology Commission.  He has won several awards as Austin Under 40 Technology and Sciences, The University of Texas at Austin – Concordia Emerging Leader and is a graduate of Leadership Austin’s Emerge.

Lemuel Williams is a 2001 graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems.
